Should You Buy the Redmi 17 5G?

Buy it if battery life is the thing you actually care about. If you are a delivery rider, a field sales executive, a student on long commutes, or simply someone tired of carrying a power bank, a 7,900mAh cell paired with a modest 720p screen is a genuinely efficient combination. Low-resolution LCDs draw less power than high-resolution AMOLEDs, so the real-world endurance here should be excellent.

Be honest about the trade-offs, though. A 1600 x 720 panel on a 6.9-inch body is not sharp — text will look noticeably softer than on the AMOLED screens some rivals offer around this price. The camera system is a single useful 50MP sensor with a 2MP companion that adds very little, and video is capped at 1080p 30fps, which is behind what several competitors manage. The phone is also going to be heavy; a cell this large has to weigh something.

If sharpness, photography or a slim body matter more to you than endurance, there are better uses of Rs 24,000 in this market right now. If they do not, this is a straightforward, well-targeted device.
